Working together with our Russian partners has created a new adventure. We are introducing an absolutely new horse riding tour to one of the most beautiful mountains in Russian Altai region. This tour is suitable for people who will ride a horse for the first time. You will be taught basic horse riding skills before and during the tour. Mount Belukha, the highest peak in Siberia, has with two summits, Western Belukha (4440 meters) and Eastern Belukha (4506 meters). The glacier shield of Belukha, which covers the largest part of the mountain ridge, occupies a territory of 70 sq km and is the source of Katun river. The steep peaks of Belukha, sparkling masses of ice, vertical rocky walls charm the travellers from afar and inspire them with awe and excitement. Riding at the base of the mountain among snow and rocks you become aware that the man is not always the measure of all things. According to one Asian legend the Belukha mountain is a future Northern Shambala a mystical country of spiritual wisdom. This area is associated with the famous Russian artist Nikolay Roerikh and attracts hundreds of admirers of his painting every year. In 1995 the government of Altai Republic established the Belukha nature park. To visit Belukha in itself is a wonderful experience, and to access it through the Oroktoy path is a double gift. The main advantage of this path is that it passes at high altitude, repeatedly opening Belukha from unusual and bewitching angles. Below are beautiful valleys and clouds are floating past. In addition, this route provides access to Tekelyu waterfall - the highest waterfall in Altai, which is a spectacle. There are rocks, slopes, lakes, valleys, passes, rivers. In a word, on this route there is everything that can be. The route includes the maximum possible number of beautiful places in 10 days. You will not be dissapointed. If you wish this tour can be combined with any other adventure that you want to do in Russia. We are happy to create a special tailored itinerary. Please contact us for more information. They will teach us about life as young Communist Volunteers in the construction camps in addition to providing insights into labouring in the extreme conditions. Life on the BAM was difficult and dangerous. Consequently, there were many unhappy endings. Many of the workers on the BAM and in the uranium mines did not go willingly to Siberia. Their stories were not told openly and they are just as important to the social history of the BAM. This journey is an adventure of a lifetime. Siberia and the Russian Far East are wild and beautiful regions full of wonderful scenery and plenty of surprises. In addition to snowy mountains, clear running rivers and fish to catch there are the unexpected sand dunes in the depths of the Taiga.
